Analysis of divisional profitability using the residual income profile: a note on cash flows and rates of growth
Article Abstract:
The relationship between residual income (RI), return on investment (ROI) and cash flows were analyzed through the use of Frigo and Ciecka's residual income profile. The RI profile showed that in some instances, both RI and ROI can be effectively utilized in divisional cash flow estimation. RI was also found to be effective as proxy for cash flows during net present value estimation.
