Productivity growth, technological progress, and technical efficiency change in China: a three-sector analysis
Article Abstract:
China's productivity growth, technological progress and technical efficiency change are examined after economic reform. Production functions for the state industry, the rural industry and agriculture are measured using 1985-1991 statistics. A model is developed where productivity growth is classified into technological progress and changes in technical efficiency. Productivity and efficiency performance are compared among the regions and across the three sectors.

Total factor productivity of grain production in the former Soviet Union
Article Abstract:
The increase in total factor productivity (TFP) in grain production in the former Soviet Union between 1960 and 1995 is projected. The tremendously lesser or negative TFP studied between the 1960s and 1980s conveyed that grain output increase in the past was realized at a steep cost. The recent improvements between 1992 and 1995, covering price and trade emancipation and eradication of input subsidies, led to astounding increases in TFP.
