Taking lessons from history and looking at experience, resumes and the policymakerEs views about how the economy works and what monetary policies can accomplish are the ways to choose a new Federal Reserve Chairman. The views of the Federal Reserve Chairman within the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) right since the passage of the banking act of 1935 is presented as an indicator to the economic outcome of each ChairmanEs policies.

Prediction markets
Article Abstract:
Prediction markets are extremely useful for estimating the market's expectations of certain events like simple markets, complex markets and contingent markets. The failure of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) ill-fated attempt at establishing a Policy Analysis Market indicated that the publicly regulated, private-sector firms would have to continue to innovate and create new prediction markets.
