Comment on T. Eggertsson, "Limits to institutional reforms."
Article Abstract:
The influence of institutions like markets, firms, families, and schools on value formation, and the effects of the value formed thereafter upon these institutions are vital components in economics of institutions. The role of self-interest takes precedence in the formulation of externalities to society. The family as self-interested economic and emotional alliances of individuals may open the eyes of policy-makers into the positivity of providing tax incentives and other social insurances to further family cohesiveness.

Measuring attitudes towards inequality
Article Abstract:
A survey of students in Australia and Israel reveals that measures of the inequality aversion of several groups of students can be attained with some precision. The survey also shows that a Gini inequality measure-based welfare function is more effective than those that are based on constant relative or constant absolute inequality aversion. Utilizing a range of lower values of relative inequality aversion is found to be useful in the empirical measurement of inequality and in the examination of optimal tax models.
