Article Abstract:

The Federal Court of Appeal in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates ruled that delivery of goods to the consignee takes effect as soon as the carrier's agent delivers a delivery order to the consignee after yielding the original bill of lading, and the consignee receives the goods. It was established that the date of delivery is not based on when the consignee actually cleared the goods from the port, but would instead depend on the time the last delivery order was issued by the consignee.

Lebanon: billions in contracts coming up for bid

Article Abstract:

The end of a 10-year travel restriction to Lebanon for American citizens has resulted in profitable reconstruction projects in the country, according to US Ambassador to Lebanon Richard Jones. He added that the US Embassy in Beirut has verified 25 large-scale projects with over $3.5 billion in contracts up for bids. The projects that are up for bids include airport free zones, a hotel, a cargo handling system and the Beirut Conference Center.
