Article Abstract:
Social security privatization raises issues of transition, and have been debated at a time of demographic change. It is not clear that privatization of social security is desirable, and there are good reasons for arguing that it is not desirable, which are examined in detail.

Payroll taxes can distort the labor market, and benefits can arise through privatizations. There is a need to re-examine traditional views on conditions for privatization of Social Security.
