Cross-border mergers and EC competition policy
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze cross-border corporate mergers and competition policy in Europe. Mergers in the region have occurred mostly in the manufacturing sector. Some of the most active bidders in cross-border operations were British, Dutch, French and German companies. Increases in the number of such mergers and changes in the reasons for such business activities have become a major cause of concern for European anti-trust officials.
