Commercial representation
Article Abstract:
Lebanon's Leg Decree No 34 of Aug 5, 1967, governs commercial representation and the relationship between commercial agents and principals. Courts interpret the protective provisions of this law as matters of public policy, and reject recourse to other nations' courts, and agreements limiting or voiding compensation to the agent if the principal unilaterally ends the contract. Arbitration before international bodies may be upheld. Taxation, business communication, nationality, and registration are discussed.
