Examining the Penrose effect in an international business context: the dynamics of Japanese firm growth in US industries
Article Abstract:
Edith Penrose developed the theoretical proposition that the growth of a fast growing firm will slow down because of its internal experienced managers who due reasons such as increased demands, time, attention may not be able to deliver the goods. A study on this proposition from Japanese firms in United States industries context is presented.

The limits to the growth of multinational firms in a foreign market

The factors that affect and influence the growth rate of a Japanese firm in US industry are investigated. As suggested by theories of growth for firms, slow managerial growth is a major constraint why firms cannot grow faster.
