FIY*NY economic development software system
Article Abstract:
The Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., New York State Dept. of Economic Development and the New York State Economic Development Council have jointly developed FYI*NY, a software package designed to facilitate quick and accurate responses to prospect requests. FYI*NY is used by the state's economic developers to keep up-to-date information on local companies, manage a database of properties, programs and incentives, analyze statistical data and facilitate information sharing among the state's economic developers. FYI*NY has thus increased cooperation among economic developers and boosted their marketing efforts.

Economic Development Corporation of Utah: lessons learned from the first 10 years

The Economic Development Corporation of Utah is the first private-public economic development corporation whose mandate is to lead Utah's economic development efforts by recruiting new businesses, facilitate the delivery of both public and private resources to existing businesses and assisting local development efforts through funding. The organization's assessment of its 10-year existence centers on the need for the organization to remain faithful to its mandate and members.
