Federal stock market law sets up regulatory authority
Article Abstract:
The United Arab Emirates Federal Law No. 4 of 2000 came into effect on Jan. 31, 2000. The new law has set up a Securities and Commodities Authority which will have the power to oversee and licence the securities and commodities market. It will be run by a board of directors.

Federal Environmental Protection Law
Article Abstract:
A description of the new United Arab Emirates Federal Environmental Protection Law 1999 is presented. The law which deals with sea, air and land pollution was implemented on Feb. 1, 2000.
