Fiscal deficits and inflation
Article Abstract:
The relationship between fiscal deficits and inflationary trends is established using a mathematical model based on non-linearity of fiscal deficits to inflation tax base. The results indicate that the macroeconomic postulate that persistent fiscal deficits are likely to be inflationary is true. The study covers data from 107 countries from 1960 to 2001.
