Fiscal financing decisions and exchange rate variability
Article Abstract:
The reaction of the exchange rates of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Australia to fiscal financing decisions are inconclusive with respect to the recent float. This is because the pattern of impulse response functions varies according to each country's reception to the shocks. The exchange rates have been evaluated against a levy supported financial expansion and against a tariff swap for debt with constant government expenditure levels.

The role of structural change in labour productivity convergence among European Union countries: 1970-1990
Article Abstract:
Proof of a new degree of sectoral and aggregate labor productivity convergence among the 11 nations of the European Union from 1970 to 1990 is presented. The results, which indicate a greater amount of aggregate convergence compared to sector convergence, point to structural change as a plausible explanation. Nations that exhibit relatively low levels of aggregate productivity were observed to benefit most from structural change.
