George Box, born in England, holder of a Ph.D in Statistics and a D.Sc. both from London University, started his career with Imperial Chemical Industries PLC. He became prominent first in the United Kingdom and then in the U.S. for his excellent work in the field of statistics and the application of the science in various fields, earning him many international awards.
