The United Kingdom retail market for home baking products is expected to fall 0.7% in real terms to 395.4 million pounds sterling by the year 2001 from 398 million pounds sterling in 1997. Sales of home baking products declined 4% in real terms during 1992-96. Culinary nuts, cooking chocolate, cake coverings and baking mixes are expected to show real growth during 1997-2001, while sales of flour, glace fruits and flavourings are expected to decline. The market for own label products is strong.
