Imagination and leadership - the neglected dimension of an evolutionary theory of the firm
Article Abstract:
The competence-based approach needs further adjustments. While this approach has usually focused on elements of path-dependency related with inherent technological trajectories and the presence of organizational routines, it is probably time to reconsider the coverage of managerial discretion. The cognitive constraints of particular agents enforce highly selective processing of information and this is affected by socially shaped attitudes.
