Immigration policy and immigrant quality: the Australian points system
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the point systems utilized in the immigration program of Australia as a means of selecting immigrants who will adjust rapidly to the circumstances of the country's labor market. Results indicated that the tests relating to employability are useful screens. Immigrants are selected for entry based on observable characteristics of the type included in the empirical analysis of immigrant labor-market performance.

Immigrants and human-capital investment
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze why immigrants invest more in human capital than the native-born and to examine how investment patterns differ by type of immigrant. Optimal income taxation and international personal mobility
Article Abstract:
High migration elasticities can have a strong negative impact on the redistributive role of income taxes. A model of a home country with internationally mobile individuals who provide competitive firms with different types of labor is developed. The model shows that public-good congestion costs and variable wages determine optimal income taxation in a country characterized by international migration.
