Impatience and long-run growth
Article Abstract:
The possibility of an infinite growth path at rising rates in a nonconvex optimal growth model with endogenous discounting is considered. Such path tends to occur when the economy comprises of agents whose impatience does not increase significantly along the course of a consumption path. This analysis extends Romer's 1986 work on increasing returns and long-term growth.
