Article Abstract:
Agent-based economic models have been proven to be more effective in evaluating the predictive behavior of firms than conventional profit maximization theories. It was stressed that organizations with considerable information-processing capabilities tend to manifest greater degree of efficiency. Firms may also be able to enhance their competitive edge over other companies by introducing hierarchies that are necessary in limiting information flow.

Personality attributes and optimal hierarchical compensation gradients
Article Abstract:
Managers' perception regarding promotion is greatly affected by their personality attributes. Utilization of a model revealed that employees' view of the future and ability to take risks affect their perceived chance of promotion. On the other hand, the hierarchical compensation gradient of companies significantly influenced by technological differences and employees' risk aversion.
