Investment sequencing in the brick industry: an application of grounded theory
Article Abstract:
A case study on investment behaviors in British brick industry is presented. The industry tends to avoid investments most of the time because of constraints on investments. However, expansion plans are put into action when a rival firm undertakes expansion, even if it means absorbing higher cost of excess capacity. The adverse repercussions of such a move are also analyzed.
