Is Russia on an unsustainable development path?
Article Abstract:
Economic growth and macroeconomic policy of Russia are analyzed in terms of environmental sustainability. Statistical data of genuine savings of countries, energy intensity, tax revenue and sector wise production of Russia is presented. Steps to curb environmental exploitation while striving for sustainable economic development are mentioned.

Article Abstract:
Russian cities of different sizes, socioeconomic profiles, and government capacity can show very different mixtures-and effectiveness of targeted and non-targeted social policies. Poverty and fiscal limitations particularly at the sub national level are often more serious problems than inadequate social targeting.
