Is the Chemistry Coming Right?
Article Abstract:
Arms control talks continue at the Geneva Conference on Disarmament. A senior Soviet delegate indicates that the Russians may approve of the British proposal for 'challenge inspection'. This would allow for checking compliance with the ban on chemical weapons. Current international law forbids the use of chemical warfare, but not the production or stockpiling of chemical weapons. A treaty banning chemical weapons is likely to be still in the distant future.
