Laboratory-based experimental and demonstration initiatives in teaching undergraduate economics
Article Abstract:
Efforts have been made to transform the classroom-based teaching of economics to college students into a laboratory-based scientific endeavor. The first project was started in 1988 at Denison University. It involved students that major in economics. The second project was started in 1993 at Washington State University. It involved students taking up introductory courses in macro- and microeconomics. Regression analysis shows a significant improvement in the performance of students in the first project.
