Legal entities
Article Abstract:
Kazakhstan's Decree on Economic Partnerships, issued in May 1995 and known as the Company Law, in conjunction with the Foreign Investment Law enacted Dec 1994, helps foreign investors to create Kazakh legal business entities such as joint stock companies (JSCs), limited liability companies, and full or komandit partnerships. Foreign investors can also register branch offices of foreign legal entities, acquire partial ownership of existing entities, and operate in precisely the same manner as domestic companies with no foreign affiliation. The structure of each legal entity, particularly the JSC format, is discussed.
