New dot-extensions in discussion
Article Abstract:
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the administrator of the domain name system, is considering the addition of new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) to the existing system. This will result in new gTLDs such as .law, .arts, .store and .firm. The move, which is not expected to be implemented in 2000, is not expected to have much of an impact on the premium placed on dot-com domain names.
