Morishima on Ricardo: two replies
Article Abstract:
Two reviews, one by H.D. Kurz and N. Salvadori, and the other by T. Peach, of the book 'Ricardo's Economies' reflect only the historians' view of Ricardo. Ricardo's theory has been interpreted in the book with a non-Sraffian point of view. The criticism that only a few references of books or articles on Ricardo have been included does not hold up. The secondary literature of Sraffa has been consciously avoided to construct the Ricardo-Sraffa theorem. The book tries to reveal the hidden theoretical and methodological relationships between the two economists.

Ricardo's international trade theory: beyond the comparative cost example
Article Abstract:
David Ricardo's most valuable contribution to economic theory is his principle of comparative advantage. There is some question, however, regarding which is the model best representingthe ideas put down by Ricardo in his 'Principles of Political Economy and Taxation.' Analysis of the tenets set down in the text showed that the widely-regarded one-factor trade theory is insufficient to account for the comparative cost example as it needs to include capital and land as factors of production. A multi-factor theory would be more appropriate.
