Motivating long-term employment contracts: risk management in major league baseball
Article Abstract:
A theoretical model showing that firms have an incentive to reallocate risks in terms of market and employee's productive uncertainty with long-term contracts is presented. Practical results from the major league baseball using this model have proved to be in consistence with the observation of long term contracts.

Strategic measure of competitiveness for ranked data
Article Abstract:
A method of evaluating the stability of ranks of a data vector over time is offered. The degree of competition among the top four seeds over time at a major tennis tournament and the changing trends of the competition are also discussed.
