Norwegian wage curves
Article Abstract:
The responsiveness of real wages to unemployment in Norway is investigated. The results, which were based annual, time-series, wage curves on the Norwegian manufacturing sector, contradicts the general perception that Norway enjoys a high degree of real wage flexibility. This is underscored in the nonlinearity of the wage curves which, in support of the long-term unemployment hypothesis, collapses for an unemployment rate higher than three percent.
