On the economic effects of multiple unionism
Article Abstract:
The impact of wage bargaining by multiple unions is analyzed. Separate bargaining by multiple unions results in higher wages compared to joint bargaining. Joint bargaining equally allocates company revenues without considering worker substitutability. On the other hand, separate bargaining allows complementary workers to demand higher wages although substitutable workers will be placed in a less favorable bargaining position.

A note on Oswald's "The Economic Theory of Trade Unions."
Article Abstract:
The theory that increasing the employment subsidy of companies also increases union wage demands is analyzed. Results show that employment subsidies reduced wage demands due to the decreased marginal cost of employment and the increased wage elasticity of employment. An employment subsidy can also reduce prices if markets are imperfectly competitive and prices are a fixed mark-up over marginal labor cost.

Underemployment, irreversibilities and growth under trade unionism
Article Abstract:
The impact of irreversible decisions about technology and human capital under conditions of uncertainty was analyzed within a model of a unionized economy with overlapping generations. Results showed that irreversible decisions hindered the accumulation process, causing significant under-utilization of labor and capital. The under-utilization occurred both in the convergence path and at steady state.
