Poverty, inequality, and growth in urban China, 1986-2000
Article Abstract:
A study of the incomes and poverty in urban China from 1986 to 2000 is presented. It is observed that there is an increase in incomes of Chinese. However, there is also an increase in poverty because of reduction in social welfare programs, deregulation of food prices etc., which has resulted in inequality in urban China.

How and why transition made income inequality increase in urban Russia: a local study
Article Abstract:
Based on household income data from city of Taganrog in 1989 and 2000, the disparity in income levels in Russia subsequent to transition are determined and analyzed. Factors that influenced these income levels are also examined.

Article Abstract:
A study on China's real exchange rate from 1980 to 2003 using autoregression model is presented. The macroeconomic factors that influenced the real exchange rate from 1985 to 2003 are analyzed.
