Predicting the outcomes of National Football League games
Article Abstract:
The evaluation of power scores as predictors of the outcomes of National Football League games for the period of 1994-2000 is discussed. The evaluation involves a comparison of forecasts generated from probit regressions based on power scores published in The New York Times with the betting markets, and the opinion of the sports editor.
