Public policy towards R&D in oligopolistic industries
Article Abstract:
An analysis of commercial policy administration with regards to oligopolistic industries reveals that research and development output, productivity and welfare are reduced when industries engage in strategic behavior. The study also reveals that higher subsidies are justified for industries engaged in strategic activities and industrial research efforts. Moreover, the study justifies the economic effects of cooperative research efforts.
