Small business optimism
Article Abstract:
The statistical month wise data of small business optimism based on ten survey indicators from the year 1998 to 2003 is presented. The small business optimism declined in July 2003, where the major contributor was a 10-point loss in the percent of owners expecting the economy to improve in the second half of the year.

The statistical data for the small business optimism from the year 1998 to year 2003 are presented. The index component in 2003 had a historic low of 6 and a high of 28 and the results of April 2003 were better than that of March due to the war situation.

The optimism index for March 2004 based on ten survey indicators is reported at 102.6, which is the same as that of the previous month. The comparative indices from January 1999 to March 2004 are shown with a starting index value of 100 for the year 1986.
