Socialist with a Sledgehammer
Article Abstract:
The current state of Italian politics is explored. The struggle between Italy's trade unions and the Socialist government over a three point cut in the wage-indexation system is described. The Socialists' program for constitutional reform is examined. Economic goals include: reducing state holding companies, cutting state spending, a crackdown on tax evasion, and lowering the inflation rate. Although the Communists and Christian Democrats have hinted at an alliance, it is unlikely that such a relationship will become a reality.

Licensed to Kill?
Article Abstract:
Europe is mistakenly chastizing the United States for the successful invasion of Grenada. This criticism shows a lack of understanding of the nature of deterrence. Inaction can be more harmful than action. Other United States policies open to criticism cover nuclear arms and the Middle East. Grenada should not have been a confusing event.
