On export composition and growth

Article Abstract:

A study on export composition and detailed data set, covering 45 industrialized and developing countries including exports of 33 industries from the year 1981 to 1997 are presented. The results are gained using a random effects model and employing an instrumental variable estimator, which supports the hypothesis of qualitative differences between high-tech exports with respect to output growth.

How to improve the development impact of foreign direct investment: A review

Article Abstract:

The report was prepared to give a review on the UNCTAD publication on the foreign direct investment in the World Investment Report 2003 where the report discusses eight key issues related to development impact of foreign direct investment. The studies revealed that market failure was not sufficient condition for flexible and selective foreign direct investment policies to be effective.
