Taxation vs. litigation
Article Abstract:
Gambling is being increasingly perceived as a social crime, especially by the Canadian Superior Court, which has asked for filing a lawsuit against casinos. However, taxation might still be the better way to make companies function in a socially responsible manner.

Article Abstract:
Based on his practice as a clinician, the author supports Professor Kindt's proposal to hold gambling industry responsible for the social costs incurred by them. The gambling industry causes more harm than benefit and hence must be considered for mass litigation.

Assessing the costs of 'addicted' gamblers

The NORC (National Opinion Research Center) team examines the claims made by Professor Kindt's paper regarding the social costs of addiction to gambling, which cites evidence from their report that had been brought out by the team earlier.
