Technology, dependent investments, and discounting rules for corporate investment decisions
Article Abstract:
Corporations enter the market with the goal of earning optimal profits. Their investment decisions are conditioned by technological changes and the inherent contingent nature of economic projects. Krouse's growth model provides generalized specifications for investing while another model allows for time dependency in a dynamic market. Uncertainty and project contingency are shown to have different effects on discounting rates for assessing investment projects.
