Article Abstract:

The Social Democrats are gaining support in the West German Bundestag. However, a recent public opinion poll showed that the Greens have retained the five to six per cent favor they won in the March election. In the state of Hesse the Social Democrats are working to establish a coalition with the Greens. Talks have broken down. The Greens are divided in their response to the overtures of the Social Democrats.
