The IMF and Russia
Article Abstract:
The economic breakdown along with the downfall of socialism in the Soviet Union and in East European countries has added new, overwhelming responsibilities for the International Monetary Fund, thus making the organization an object of criticism. Russia's collaboration with the IMF revealed lessons that political tasks are not resolved by the IMF and a country borrower should maintain the criteria of a monetary program for financial stabilization. It also shows that inflation rates are cut accurately with traditional monetary methods.

The rise and fall of bank control in the United States: 1890-1939
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the demise of financial capitalism in the US which occurred in 1939. The rise of corporate governance wherein banks controlled key nonfinancial establishments began in the 1890s after the emergence of professional executives in the 1850s. This state of affairs would have continued if not for the intervention of the government through a series of regulations.
