The beta as a model for the distribution of earnings
Article Abstract:
An optimizing model of firm behavior was proposed in forecasting earnings distribution. Compared to commonly used models, the proposed optimizing model is based mainly on optimizing micro-foundations, such as firms' profit maximization. It has the ability to generate beta density for the distribution of earnings. Application of the model shows that it was able to generate relatively accurate predictions of inequality in the 1970s and 1980s.

Short-Run Rigidities and Long-Run Adjustments in a Computable General Equilibrium Model of Income Distribution and Development
Article Abstract:
Half of income distribution inequities in developing countries result from earnings structures, employment structures, and wealth distribution. A model is developed to explain parameter changes over time and resulting from exogeneous shocks. Wages adjust progressively both in quantity and price variables. The model is functionally computable.

Wages, Minimum Wages and Income Distribution in Brazil: Results from the Construction Industry
Article Abstract:
The minimum wage policy plays a significant role in increasing inequality in income distribution in Brazil. A significant decrease in the minimum wage from 1964 through 1974 created greater income inequalities. Wage equations perform poorly in substantiating this otherwise observable hypothesis.
