The economics of New Labour: policy and performance
Article Abstract:
New Labour's economic policy developed from the Thatcherism that it followed and it has embraced neo-liberal economics and accepted the idea that government demand management will fail. Demand played a big role in economic growth, lower unemployment and job quality in the U.K. since 1997 despite New Labour's dismissal of its importance.
