The positive economics of policy reform
Article Abstract:
Economists, when asked why economic theory is different from the practice of economics, cite political reasons. The events occurring in developing countries show that an understanding of the dynamics of policymaking is essential in developing successful economic policies. Political-economic models are more effective than public-choice models because they reduce the effects of political theory, thereby improving the policymaking process.
