The trade policy review of Zimbabwe
Article Abstract:
The GATT Trade Policy Review of Zimbabwe has contributed considerably to transparency in the country's trade policies. The government introduced an economic liberalization program in 1991 in an effort to stimulate economic growth. At the core of the Economic Structural Adjustment Program has been the liberalization of trade and exchange rate policies. However, while the GATT Review provides a clear report on the Zimbabwe's current trade policies, if does not adequately address a number of wide issues raised by the liberalization policies, including the credibility of the reforms.

The international use of the Japanese yen: the case of Japan's trade with East Asia
Article Abstract:
A study of the relationship of 'pricing-to-market' practices of Japanese exporting companies and trade invoicing preferences resulted in the determination that Japanese firms prefer to invoice their East Asian exports in US dollars. This finding leads to the conclusion that, despite the recent improvement in economic interdependence between the region and Japan in the field of ICs and semiconductors, a substantial overall increase in Japanese exports to East Asia is not forthcoming.
