Trade with low wage economies, employment and productivity in UK manufacturing
Article Abstract:
An examination of the pattern of employment in the UK manufacturing sector before and during the globalization of the marketplace showed that the attending skill-bias of technical change is responsible for the much of the labor force reduction in many industries. This is due to the productivity growth and slow growth in output that came along with globalization. But such an effect on the labor market is seen as only temporary that will soon correct itself with new labor policies.

Computerisation and wage dispersion: an analytical reinterpretation
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to establish how computerization of the workplace has influenced a significant rise in income inequality in developed countries. Results indicate that the emergence of information and communication technologies has caused the reduction of the labor content of industrial processes. Organization computing has also triggered the trend away from low-wage blue-collar work toward high-paying occupations.
