Welfare Aspects of the Transfer Problem
Article Abstract:
A general three country trade model is developed with consideration given to substitutability in consumption and production. The effect of transfer on the countries' real income is examined. Both giver and receiver may lose, either separately, or at the same time. If total substitution elasticity is high, neither suffers.

A 'Reciprocal Dumping' Model of International Trade
Article Abstract:
The contributors to dumping by oligopolistic firms are identified in an extension of previous models. Rivalry causes reciprocal dumping in segmented markets. Unnecessary transport costs occur with free entry welfare improved. Rivalry actually increases trade.

Gale's (D.) theory for two agents benefiting at the expense of a third agent in a two commodity exchange is examined. Algebraic formulae are provided to smooth Gale's phenomena. Walrasian stability is maintained.
