Resolving differences in willingness to pay and willingness to accept: comment
Article Abstract:
The conclusions of Shogren et al. (1994) are inadequate to dismiss the endowment effect as a substantial reason of the deviation between willingness to pay (WTP) and willingness to accept (WTA) values. A better and more conclusive method is proposed to test for the effect. The endowment and substitution effects have a unified role may account for the inconsistencies in Shogren et al.'s findings.
