A degree of self-fulfilment
Article Abstract:
Studying for a degree is an accepted way of achieving self-fulfilment, but many students are unprepared for academic life, and changes in the United Kingdom higher education system need to bear in mind the new circumstances of the 1990s. Classified degrees could be usefully replaced with performance profiles. Although seminars and lectures will be reduced, there is a need for personal tutors to help students deal with family, housing and other problems which have an impact on their academic work.
