The dead (and live) poets' society
Article Abstract:
Oxford University, England, newly appointed Professor of Poetry Paul Muldoon has been a very popular choice. Muldoon follows other Irish poets into the job, such as Seamus Heaney. He was elected to the post, which lasts for five years, unopposed. Yet some observers have suggested he was elected due to the influence of other prominent Irishmen at Oxford. Other observers had felt they were unable to get a post at Oxford in the past because of their Irish background. There has been an outcry over decision by the Oxford University Press to no longer publish poetry books.

Vile bodies
Article Abstract:
All human thought now seems to have become bound up with the body, and few people can imagine dealing with any subject except in terms of the body. The body has become the ultimate way in which people make sense of the world. This is the inevitable outcome of the trend towards secularism, in which people have abandoned the soul and have only the body left. This is now getting out of control, and is robbing history, culture and people of their meaning.
