Bradford link stirred PM to press Shah to free academic detainee
Article Abstract:
The role of former Prime Minister (PM) Harold Wilson in striving to secure the release of a Muslim student Modfrad Sadeq Zibakalam imprisoned in Iran for alleged links with a sabotage organization is described. The PM's special link with the University of Bradford as chancellor enabled him to insist the Shah of Iran for the release of the student.
