Article Abstract:
Black universities or 'bush colleges' as they were known in South Africa are gradually changing. Issues relating to the debate surrounding what to do with graffiti left by Russian soldiers on the walls of the Reichstag building in Berlin, Germany, when they overturned the Third Reich in 1945 are examined, It is argued that to erase the graffiti from the building would be to erase a part of Germany's past.
